Hmmm. Another choice already.

"The mines, perhaps?"

While I wait, I choose to open and see what skills are available from the books.

"I can't believe that Moluen actually ran off on his own.... I hope I can make it in time before the little guy dies."
>Use the Tier 1 Class Skillbook, the Tier 1 Generic Skillbook, and book it to the Living Areas.

Arbus' eyes fired up upon the sight of the place.

"Ohhh" he exclaimed enthusiastically and ran upon the first shelf, grabbing a few books and paging through them.
His expression slowly calmed down as he laid the book down and looked at the next one.

"No, those are just training manuals." He passed one book to each of the companions to examine.
"I guess this must have been a part of the barracks."

Arbus let his words sink into himself.

"This probably means we are close to the living quarters."

Books of teaching combat arts?
Not what I expected, but I guess that'll do...

Read both books

Now, with living area and the mine to explore...
I can guess that the mine will lead deep to underground.

Head to the mines.

The Knight growls at the pair of monsters. Kobolds. Disgusting creatures. He had heard the stories of them - Of how they came in the night and slaughtered the helpless citizens, of how they brought plagues. Granted, it was likely that many of them were exaggerated, but the fact still stood - These were dangerous creatures that should be showed no mercy. Itane took up his sword and planted his feet in the ground, taking up a defensive stance and awaiting his opponet's moves.

He didn't have to wait long - After a brief pause, the hunter charged him. The kobold swung it's immense greatsword over it's head and down at the Knight. He nimbly managed to avoid the blow, side-stepping it to the left, and delivered a backhanded blow with the hilt of his own weapon to the kobold, stumbling it and making it fall off balance. Not waiting for a second longer, he dashes twards the archer, zig-zagging from side to side. The kobold loosed it's arrow as Itane weaved back and fourth, missing him completely. Taking advantage of the Kobold's off-balance state, the Moluen finished closing the distance and slashed at the creature's torso with his sword. Ideally, his blade would cleave the archer's bow in half, rendering it useless at any range short of the rat's fists.

James was unable to respond to anything else.
Books always fascinated him, and upon reaching the library in the training area, he took the earliest chance he got to read up.
There's a plus, too: those books were what he needed to survive the depths.

Proceed to reading the books, seeing if there's something of worth in there.

[Reads Books]

Huh... These interest me... But as I am making the impression of reading these books. For some reason, the words on them get plastered onto my head. Oh how, the thought process works...

-goes wandering off to the living area after reading.

"Perhaps, though I'd be interested to take a look at the living areas, or whatever they were called," Mykael replied. "What sorcery is held within the books?"

Arbus was happy he'd have an audience to impart his knowledge on. In his field of work, people rarely had the interest or time to tend to the meaning of old tomes.

"This is a very old iteration of pseudo-moluesk, predating either the Moluen or Kobold culture by centuries. I am not sure if I can fully translate this, most of the knowledge about the language comes from old sites, incomplete and all."

Arbus flipped another page.

"But those are clearly training manuals. Mmmmm, something about "focused willpower". This is slightly bewildering. I've never heard of old Kobold cultures writing their knowledge down in books of all things, it's mostly pictograms, labels on tombs or wall writing. This looks far too coherent and, for the lack of better word, refined. It cannot have been written by the Kobolds themselves."

Arbus snapped back from this little lecture and apologized for rambling. "I think these might come in handy."

"Sir," Mykael said slightly irritably, "I already knew that these are books for learning from. Both Extania and I ought to know the language, we were probably both around when this tongue was being spoken."
