Cast Eva+ (chance of evading attacks).

Or, if Eva+ is not allowed:

Enhance the Boost Staff with magic, increasing its stats.
First Action: You cast clear mind. (+Absolute Clear Mind: Immune to Intimidation effects (5 turns))
Second Action: You would raise your Evasion, if it wasn't for the fact that raising your evasion is equivalent to raising your dodge-type defense rolls. Your Auto-Retaliation Portal Defense System already gives your the defense rolls you need, so you instead try to enhance the boost staff with magic.
However, while you were in the middle of enhancing your Boost Staff, the Ravaging Angel's Left Arm uses Interruption Strike!
Are you able to complete your spell quick enough?
Cast Speed Roll: 2
You were forced to abandon your action in order to defend yourself against the attack.
Combat Roll: 3+1+3 vs 5+1+3
You swiftly flew out of the way of the attack.
Ravaging Angel's Head: Eye Laser
Combat Roll: 3 + 3 vs 5 + 4
You evade the deadly lasers one again.
Ravaging Angel's Right Hand: Spear of Fallen Angels

Little Note: Note on using summoned weapons to enhance your attacks or spellcasts that you must state that you're using the weapon in your action if you want to use the bonus attack stats the weapon gives. Otherwise, I'll assume that you're not using the summoned weapon even if that's the only weapon you have, since there's a possibility that you might not want to use up the limit or some other reason.

You check around the room with your Shine Rod, the only thing being affected is the clock design on the floor, seemingly glowing even more when you put your Shine Rod near it. However, it doesn't seem to do anything for now, so you continue to the room in the direction of XII, touching the wall for secret passages. Along the way, you give yourself a little energy boost (+1 to actions rolls).
You eventually come across a large room with a gears everywhere, and basically no floor except for the platforms stuck against the wall. You cannnot see the bottom of the pit. The only places that you can stand on in this room other than the platforms stuck against walls is the giant gears that spin in the center of the room, and the poles that allows the gears to extend into the center of the room. There's another passage at other side of the room. It would require leaping from gear to gear. Another option would be to fly across-that is... if you can fly. Flying would require you to avoid some of the gears during your flight to reach the other side. The platforms on the walls just aren't connected enough to each other for you to reach the other side.
